Three Thematic Focus Areas

Session I: Reassessment and Evolutionary History

This session focuses on the hominin fossil record, examining morphological variation, taxonomic debates, and the evolutionary trajectory of Homo erectus across time and space.

Session II: Life History and Behavioral Aspects

Focusing on the archaeological record, this session explores tool technologies, subsistence strategies, cognitive development, and social organization of early Homo populations.

Session III: Migrational Diversity and Environmental Context

This session addresses the dispersal patterns of Homo erectus out of Africa, regional adaptations across Eurasia, and the paleoenvironmental contexts that shaped early human expansion.

Venue

Scientific sessions will take place in the lecture hall of the Georgian National Museum in Tbilisi.

The museum houses one of the most significant collections of early human fossils, including the remarkable Dmanisi specimens.
